In a recent poll, over 50% of Americans feel that water pollution is the top environmental issue.
Air pollution 46%, damage to the earth’s ozone layer and loss of tropical rain forests each 43%, global warming 41%, the extinction of plant and animal species 39 %, and acid rain 25 %.
Water pollution is definitely a very serious issue! Our global fresh water supply is in jeopardy, as population growth continues to strain this resource. Toxins leaching into ground water from human activities render water unpotable and cause serious damage to our genetic structure.
It is important to keep in mind that air pollution, damage to the ozone layer, loss of rain forests, acid rain, loss of biodiversity, and many water issues are ALL DIRECTLY RELATED TO CLIMATE CHANGE.
Therefore, climate change is the top issue!
