The National Academy of Sciences released a study that shows a shift in world climate zones by 2100 – possibly within our lifetime and certainly within our children’s.

The study shows that climate zones are likely to shift away from the equatorial regions, and towards the poles – as tropical regions (such as the vanishing cloud forests in Costa Rica) are highly sensitive to any climate fluctuations. As climate zones shift toward the poles – scientists predict that mountainous and polar zones could disappear completely, as new zones emerge in the tropical regions.

Here’s the article, released today.
